Structure
The uMATI structure has been established and supported by the Mooi-Mpofana Agricultural
Association, Kamberg Valley Association & the Nottingham Road Land Owners Association, to deliver on the
following three pillars:
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
Providing essential support and knowledge to both start-up and existing BBBEE initiatives with special focus on the entire value chain of the agricultural sector.
EDUCATION
In ensuring sustainable transformation in the complex and highly competitive agricultural sector, UMATI recognises the importance of the development of knowledge and skills among the youth. An Education Platform has been established to better:
- Understand the broader training needs of poorer communities.
- Facilitate the collective areas of focus and competencies of the numerous training providers in the District.
- Raise the required funding in support of existing and new education initiatives.
INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT
Dual approach:
SERVICE DELIVERY - to ensure that every household in the District has access to potable water.
INCREASED IRRIGATION CAPACITY – to allow for expansion of Agricultural production and so provide new opportunities for black farmers.
